Activities for Middle Grades Science with the CBL 2 and the TI-73

Each one integrates NSES science objectives with those of NCTM math. Science provides the real-life context and math is naturally imbedded into each activity as the language of data. The book organizes the labs under NSES middle school science strands: Properties and Changes of Properties in Matter, Motion and Forces, Transfer of Energy, Structure and Function in Living Systems, Populations and Ecosystems, Diversity and Adaptations of Organisms, Earth's History, Structure of the Earth System, and Earth in the Solar System. In each investigation, students follow experimental design by identifying the independent and dependent variables, constants, number of trials and procedure for collecting samples.
